I am interested in learning more about clicker training. Does anyone recommend a particular video which teaches clicker training. My English Pointer is 11 months. Is this too late to introduce a new technique?

Hi there,
Dogs are never too old to learn! If you do a search for Crosskeys Books, under google, they have a wonderful video to teach you how.

http://www.dogtrain.co.uk/The Motivation Movie by Joanna Hill, available from her or Alpha dog training (See above link). It is not just for "tricks" as the Bow Wow ones are but shows how to use it to encourage appropriate behaviour as well as for heelwork, retrieve etc etc.
At 11 months old your dog is still a puppy and many much older dogs have "crossed over" with considerable success.

Hi Tohme
The Joanna Hill video - would it be helpful when aiming to train a new pup for competition - and do you know how long it is

I think it says how long it is on the link (I have watched it but did not time it). Hmmmmm, training for competition. Really this is a basic vid for those who have no idea about clicker training and can not/do not go to a trainer. The short answer is probably not.
Hi, That has told me all I need to know, thank you, and saved me some money :)
