I read one of your post to a fellow huskie lover the other day and you were saying there are organisations that you can take your huskie to race or compete. If you recall saying this then could you tell me where i could take mine as i bought her as a pet dog and she has no K.C  but i would love to work her and see her with other huskies.  P.s. please remember that my one has not got K.C. could it be if i reg. her with the kennel club on the working trials list would this allow her into some organisations?. Thankyou awaiting your post.

there are a few organisitions in the uk that will allow non KC reg dog to run and compete, there are however certain conditions.
one organisation is
ABSA
this runs a "sled dog event register" that is for
"individual purebred KC recognised sleddogs who, for one reason or another, do not have KC registration documents. Each applicant is considered on its own merits and verification and registration numbers are issued on a strict no-breeding term, the Register not intended to encourage the breeding of unregistered purebreds. Dogs may compete in any ABSA standard class and most others."  you need to contact lyn harrison to discuss things further, contact details are on ABSA website.

another organistion is SDAS
these operate an "open sled dog regsiter"  this again has certain conditions which can be read on their website.

another organistion BSHRA has an untimed courtesy class where dogs are allowed to run.  again you need to check for the conditions.

your dog would not be allowed to run at any SHC of GB rallies nor the SSHC.

please remember that the minimum of dogs allowed to run is 2.  some organisations do run a one dog scooter class but i am not sure if a non KC reg  dog would be allowed to compete in this class.

the racing season has all but finished now with only a couple of races left.  for details of next season races have a look at snopeak

where abouts are you?  are they no local mushers you could meet up with?
HTH, if you need any more help, feel free to email me,
regards,
kelly
