Looking on all the boards everybody seems to love dogs some more than others, but what else i see is alot about breeding the dogs.  I do agree that every dog has its own showing standard and working abitlity, i feel sometimes that this is so sad for these are amimals not robots.  I have been to shows and when my dogs do not come anywhere then i know that judge was wrong for my dogs are the best dogs to me, i would then take them home and carry on giving them the love and affection that they are used to.  Like i say i show and work my dogs but will never start telling people what they say is wrong as why are they? everybody has there own way of doing things.  Like i say the dog comes from the wild so why try and do everthing for them why not let some things come natually. Another thing that i see at shows is that the dogs have no life they stand there hours on end being pulled, trimmed, and brushed some people dont even let them have a chance to releive themself.  And when all the ordeal is over they spend the rest of there days in kennels or one room in the house.  Although i do show my dogs, i do not do this to compete it is for the hobby that i have with my love ones. But also would like to say that i do think pet owners feel more for there dogs then any big name breeders that is what i beleive anyway.  One other wish would be that people would please try not to be god in the dog world.  Thankyou guest.

I think your preaching to the converted
Although a lot of us show and work our dogs we are all first and foremost pet owners and dog lovers!!
As for telling people what to do regarding breeding the only reason we do this is because if you read through the posts you will see many of them are the same...got a dog,how can I breed/stud it...not interested in doing it properly or for the right reasons ,just waant to make puppies!!We are dog lovers and the gaurdians of our breeds and so when people use them to make money or what ever other petty reason without thought for their dogs or the resulting offspring we do our best to encourage the right course of action.

Some of us have been around a long time!!! We see people making or about to make terrible mistakes & know that the outcome is going to be detrimental to the individual dog or breed & just hope that one or two of them will take the advice which has been given (& which they have asked for, by the way).

i agree with some of  guests points there are alot of people who althought they quite obviously love their dogs to bits they do seem obsessed with fussing over them and not letting them just be plain old dogs! our dogs live in kennels with large runs, they live 2 to a kennel in same sex pairs or dog and bitch pairs unless one is in season and then we sepearate accordingly, they have access to a large yard to run around in and in the morning they get let out of their kennels to be exercised and or have a run around in batches, most of them get along, but a couple of our male dogs arent so keen on each other, hence letting them out in turn in groups. they have lots of toys to play with, kongs, balls, tuggers etc and they get raw bones from the butcher several times weekly. they get wet, muddy, dig holes, play games and do doggy stuff to their hearts content all day long, we rarely have health or temperament problems as they are allowed to express their doggyness to their hearts content. shows have never interested me but i have been to a couple years ago and have seen the things guest talks about, dogs confined to small cages, few toilet breaks and some being yanked and dragged around the show ring when clearly they would rather be elsewhere. also too, the country shows sadden me, alot of them held at the height of the summer and every one ive been to ive seen dogs in cars in the sweltering heat. sometimes you wonder if these sort of people really are dog lovers despite what they say? i feel my mucky pups have a better quality of life compared to some of these "pampered pooches"
