Being thirtysomething I remember all the musical tastes of old -
I used to love Phil Collins and "In the air tonight" -  ( amongst many others)
now my eldest son has a CD of some remixes ( IN the Air included) with Tupac and I LOVE it :)
Son looks at me like I'm mad though ;)
Busy playing it as I browse through ChampDogs :D :D

It funny I used to feel like that in my thirties but now I'm in my forties and son No 2 is into heavy music (which I was in my teens) I get great satisfaction in knowing the lyrics better than he does when he's listening to Black Sabbath etc.  :D

He still won't watch Top Of The Pops 2 with me and the hubby though. ;) :D

Now Tupac is a name that I know from my son and his love of UK Hip Hop - otherwise known to me as that mother****** music!  I've just looked down his list of music on the pc of which he has literally thousands of tracks and every Tupac one I have clicked on has such a liberal sprinkling of F words and obscenities I daren't play it with my 10yr old around.   Older son is forced to wear headphones to listen.

My children are always amazed when I know "tunes" they listen to and it doesn't occur to them they are re-cycled ones.  Tell us the title of this album Lel, I used to love Phil Collins (until he went astray).

Hi Lel

We are listening to 8 mile MNM at the mo. We listen to so many different types of music and Flo (11) thinks it is so cool as she says all my other friends parents are soooooo old fashioned :D :D :D

We have the diverse range of music playing in this house such as , The Darkness, Lost Profits, Basement Jax (sp), Norman Cook , Radiohead, Christina Agreleria(sp again :) ), Heaven 17, Nickleback, Robbie ( I love him :) ), Fun loving criminals, Jarimoqui, Red hot chili peppers, Bowie,  oh yes Take that, :D :D and many many more.

We must have 500 plus CD's and get at probably two or three a month ! We love music ! Better than telly anyday :D

I get that too "How many channels did your TV have mum". I do love it when they 'recondition' old songs and bring them back! Great to be able to sing along (i'm only 30). :)

Everytime we pick our kids up from school we always get looks cause the music is just blasting from our car, of course we turn it down when the children get in unless its a song they like and they are saying turn it up. I'm 30 hubby 4 years older, but never too loud to have your music going :D i'm not an old fogey yet, your only as old as you feel-guess I shouldn't say that cause sometimes I feel 90 :( Not that I know what that feels like but with back ache ect. talking music like AC/DC, Pink Floyd, 3 days grace, nickle back, Limp bizkit ect
- By jackyjat [gb] Date 12.03.04 21:23 UTC
The trouble is Dollface that you get to the age where you need to have the music turned up loud just to hear it!  Mind you, you still can't understand the words they are singing!
