Although i have booked Mia (rottie) into the vets tonight, i would really appreciate some advice.

Mia has gone off her food in the past day or so,she eats Burns, has been very tired, normally she is like a pogo stick, has a dry nose and has only been for a poo once in 2 days, she goes out for a wee as usual but nothing else.

i know that the vet will tell me what is wrong but we are not going there until 6.30 tonight, i'm going out of my mind with worry, could anyone please give me some advice as to what they think it could be.she was wormed last night if that helps anyone.

Thankyou

Steph.

We can't really advice over the net and can only take a guess. My guess would be an infection of some kind, and would guess that a course of antibiotics will soon have your dog right. Lets hope that is all it is and she will soon be back to normal..

the only thing i'm worried about is that we have fallen out with our neighbour over her, he doesnt like dogs etc, keeps banging on the fence to annoy her, if he had thrown something over the fence that say had poisen in it would the affect be instant or would it take time to get into her system.

maybe jumping the gun abit, but i wouldnt put it past him :(

Some dogs can have a bit of a negative reaction to medication so it could be down to the worming tablets, or she may have just picked up a bug.
Sorry about the neighbour dispute :(  My friends dog was poisoned and went beserk trying to climb the walls and banging his head before he died in spasm.  It was very quick.  Would depend on what it was and how much but it's VERY rare to hear of this.
Would like to hope she's just feeling a bit off colour and she'll be back to normal soon.  If you are overly worried then I'm sure the vets would be able to fit you in a bit earlier.  My own dogs are like this every now and again and then it's back to normal :)

Think you should mention it to your vet and check the garden for any signs but apart from that consider it very unlikely, your neighbour must know that they would not get away with doing anything like that. Apart from your fears about your neighbour your dog could have found a dead mouse or rat so PLEASE do not jump to conclusions it is more than likely to be an infection. Only just over 3 hours now anyway. :)

more than likely jumping to conclusions but your mind tends to wander doesnt it, Mia is at work with me now, she was at home but i brought her in a lunch, she looks very tired and panting quite a bit, more than normal anyway, have got fresh water with me so i'm making sure even if shes not eating anything she drinking,

Well went to the vets last night and she has a temperature, the vet felt her stomach and he says she has a blockage, gave her an injection to flush her system out and gave me this oral stuff in a Syringe, (sorry cant remember what its called) ,it lines the gut, had to give her 2ml last night and 2ml this morning, have to go back to the vets tonight, she still hasnt been to the loo, and is still very dosey, vet says that if she doesnt improve by tonight then he will have to take her in and do some tests to see what this blockage is, vet has ruled out poisoning, which i'm glad about, but hasnt ruled out that she might of swallowed something thats upset her, thing is our back yard is all slabbed and i have never given her small toys etc, so if it is something she has swallowed i dont know how she could have got it. she is at work with me today so i can keep an eye on her, she still hasnt eaten her food but will drink water and eat her gravy bones, so at least thats something.

will just have to wait and see what the vets says tonight :(

went to the vets again last night, and Mia has a temperature of 102.5, the vet says she has some sort of virus, he gave her another jab to fight this and we have to go back again on saturday morning,  gave her some boiled chicken when i got back from the vets but it didnt settle well and she was sick, i've been giving her gravy bones and water just to make sure shes eating and drinking, hopefully this injection will sort everything out, she is still at work with me, couldnt leave her at home.

hopefully by monday she will be her usual self again :)
