how would i go about it?
i cant have a dog of my own right now, but would love to start showing mainly large/giant breeds.

Not really sure how you would start.  I started showing for other people mainly because some people, for some reason, like my handling!!!!

You could always talk to breeders and see about going into partnership, they look after the dog and you show it.  Or even have you got a friend who will be willing to look after the dog and you will show and train!?

My daughter got into it through going to ringcraft classes and offering to handle a dog for people in the ringcraft class. She also joined the JHA then when it started the KCJO. She had a dog I bred to show eventually but she did very well handling. Once people saw her handling they started asking her. At some shows there are elderly or owners who for one reason or another cannot run their dogs around the rings. If you see somebody in this situation you could offer to run the dog for them at the next show.

But be very careful you don't get roped into a large, impossible breed like I have!!!....ok ok so she's a dream really!!!

Im going to romford this weekend and have 5 dogs to show and only 2 my own!!!  Does anyone know what the pros charge!!!!???!!!??!!??!

Hi Hetti, whereabouts do you live & have you had any experience at all of giant breeds or of handling? I'm always looking for someone to handle my my dogs in the ring as I loathe, hate & detest going in there myself.
