Can soneone tell me how to get over this problem.  I have two dogs and one bitch, the bitch is in season and only one dog has been done i am keeping them apart as i will be giving the bitch a litter this time round so i am being very careful not to let them spend any time together without supervision.(all test done for breeding).  My worry is that my collie has been getting very subdewed as he is only 14mths and always looked up to my bitch for guildence, although i do a lot with him and he is with me most of the day when she comes home from work with my partner my collie just becomes a totally different dog he loves her so much and now he isnt running with her or cannot even really sit with her as she will attempt to go for him.  It is like he has lost his best friend.  example: when the phone goes he will cry and sit in front of her knowing he can not go near her and will just keep crying i feel so sorry for him and i am trying to do a lot with him but what else can i do, he is losing his happy look and turning into a cry baby.  Another thing is they do sleep together in the shed he is in a crate should i let him back in the house to sleep with my other dog at night, as when she is in welp i will be doing that anyway so she has peace.  Any help would be much appreciated for he is my baby out of the three.

I don't understand - you say your dog has been 'done', by which I assume you mean castrated. If so, why are you keeping them separate?

Edit: Sorry, just re-read your post and see you have two males. I apologise, I have other things on my mind at the moment.

It would be much kinder not to let him meet her at all while she is in season. Is there someone he can go and stay with so he gets that tantalising scent out of his nostrils and can get his brain out of his trousers? Do you seriously mean he is being crated all night in the same room as an in-season bitch? Poor lad, no wonder he's upset. It is also possible for them to mate despite one being in a crate - it has been witnessed in the past.
