Hi i bought The Book Of The Bitch.

I was just wondering how far along will mitzy be before i can see the puppies moving in her abdomen as she is now 50days and no movement.

She is only eatng from midday and is eating 3-4 small meals aday.
She is cleaning her vulva and teats alot at the moment and has taken to sleeping under my bed then she will come out and goto her bed.

There is a clear discharge from her vulva and there is milk coming from her teats when i clean them should this be happening yet.
Everything else is normal she is eating and drinking fine still goes for her walks well short walks anyway and still likes to play and be cuddled.
Also her mammary glands seem warm to the touch.

Hi Mike

It is generally about seven to ten days befor they are born that you can really see them moving.

I would set up her whelping box early and encourage her to sleep in that - otherwise she may decide that under your bed is a good place to give birth and that would not be very convenient for you :)

Clear discharge is normal, I don't know whether you should be expressing milk this early - may encourage her body to start early milk production and that may get uncomfortable for her - I would leave her undercarriage alone and let her clean it when she wishes.

Hi thanks for the advice, the milk production started a couple of days ago since she has started keeping herself really clean she is always cleaning her teats.
Vet told me i could help by cleaning them with warm water but i will stop doing that. Her abdomen is not much bigger than it used to be but her rib cage is sort of puffed out its actually wider than her abdomen so i am thinking she is carrying the pups high up as she is a deep bodied bitch..
