My retriever has been a bit off colour since saturday night. He is a dog that will eat anything given to him but on saturday he didn't even come to the kitchen when his food was being put out. He managed to eat some food on sunday though it took all day to do. He had a warm/dry nose on saturday and very sleepy. From then on he has eaten only a few mouthfulls of food and I have bribed him with a few treats to keep him eating. He goes out on walks and he does go to the toilet so I really don't know what the matter is? His nose is back to normal now but he remains a bit sleepy?????
Anyone had a similar thing?

I would take him to the vet. No-one can diagnose a problem on here and you could be wasting valuable time - if he's sleepy and off his food then a vet is the first place to go and quickly. Good luck.

thankyou for your message, I am taking him to the vets but its just one of those things someone may have experienced? He is going to toilet, eating some food, excited to go out for walks but somethings not quite right about him?

He could have a blockage... has he chewed anything up recently?

thats the odd thing, he hasn't chewed anything or eating anything abnormal. I would have thought he wouldn't be able to pass anything if he had?

good news update - dog is eating all his dinner he seems back to his normal self - very strange but excellent
much happier now that the diagnosis was nothing at all wrong, he may have decided he wasn't too fond of the food as we changed it and result... happy dog... phew
