Morse and I have gone back to school to do our KC Good Citizen Bronze, and most of the class is Dobermans. I was a little worried when the teacher told us not to let the dogs stare at each other and keep them focused on the handler, and we did have a couple who fit the Dobe stereotype ( gulp) but its OK. My pals Weim bitch is there to protect us and the trainer is very competent. The Dobes are fantastic looking dogs and watching them shed their serious " What you looking at?" expression is magic. Having huge fun learning to chuck treats and keep Morse in one position without using my hands. And guess what, we can do this! Its great having a trainer who knows what you want to achieve and spends individual time with each class member, so do go and see a class first and expect to pay serious money for a good one.

Well done Morse. No hands!!  I still have to keep hold of the collar, the sight of liver cake flying across the floor is just too much for Barney at the moment, he forgets what the word 'wait' means. :)

I agree about looking for a good club. Ours was so busy that, as I said in an earlier post, we spent most of the night sitting waiting our turn to be able to do a recall. We now travel about 45 minutes to get to our new one, but it's so much better, and the attention my daughter is getting has really boosted her confidence with Sparky.
He loves car journeys, and we stop at the beach on the way home for a run,s o make a good morning out of it - then he comes home and wants to play football!
