My one bitch Tess came into season whilst in kennels when we were away signing for our house in Spain. This is a much awaited season - think she is about 2 months plus late - so as we were not sure of the first day of her season we have been trying regular matings and both she and the dog have been very willing on each occasion ;-) So fingers crossed she will take.
However, my other bitch Pepsi as some of you know is a super mom and ADORES beyond belief pups whether they be hers or anyone elses - bless her - had her last season in November. She does usually have a season at around 4-5 months ish. She is not a regular 6 month clockwork bitch. Anyway we noticed her swelling up at the weekend but she also had small amounts of milk? She was not mated last season and the 9 week tie in with dates does not really apply however she could be a bit mixed up? So we assumed she was having a phantom even though a bit late on from last season? But today she has come into season. I am assuming that it is Tess that may have brought her in. We were intending to get her mated up at her next season and if this is a proper season would still like to. Pepsi is a little "tart" though and will stand for a dog even when not in season! :D. The milk seems to have gone more or less now. Do you think this is a proper season or "can" they have "fake" seasons. Never experienced this before. She is really well in herself and NO signs it could be a pyo just think she is one of those bitches that longs for pups.

Hi Anne-Marie My Bacon came in 9 days ago and now it looks like lizzie is coming in. I think bitches do tend to bring each other in. Our lottie had a phantom last time and my god did she drive us mad. She shredded paper for weeks, we couldnt leave her in the front room on her own or you would come back and find she had made nests out of all the cushions off the sofa. She had milk and even picked a little blue toy as a baby. She got over it in a couple of weeks and went back to being her normal self. All the best Gwen

Thank you all for your replies :-)
I think I will just have to watch her really closely to make sure it is a proper season and not signs of anything else. I am sure it is though as Claude (my male Bordeaux) is sniffing after like mad and tart that she is she drags her backend along the kennel run!
Poor fella first Tess now Pepsi - all I need is for Ella to come in too!!! He will be drooling for England lol :D
