Help! Can anybody tell me anything about Presa Canario's. Any advice welcomed.

Try putting the name into a search engine Jeff, only thing I know is they are some sort of mastiff with a slopping topline and wrinkles.

Just to say becareful from whom and where you buy one from, very very careful as some one out there is breeding alot and they are turning out to be very nasty and they have hip problems as well so check on the Sire/Dams hip scores/ penn scores they must have them.

i have seen quite a few presas and none of them have been "nasty". they do have a very loyal guarding instinct, and can be reserved with strangers, but are responsive to training. there are several good breeders in the UK if you PM me i hope i can help ;-) (good choice of breed by the way, we were thinking of having one a while ago, but chose to stick with our irish staffs instead - better the devil you know!!) a friend has a couple of presas though, and a presa/tosa cross, they can be great dogs in the right hands ;-)
