The secret is exchange mobile numbers with friends then you can contact each other its a massive place so much to see go and see john ;) in gamekeepers area displays etc.. then go to your breed rings but be warned can be ten deep (spectators) also be warned like hotels abroad deck chairs chairs are spoken for very early
take lots of dosh or a credit card also take a packed lunch its all expensive and there are massive queues, wrap lunch in packets that can be thrown away so no carrying lunchboxes flasks etc.. if at all possible take one of those bags on wheels they are a boon at crufts as you get weighted down with stuff.
buy a show catalogue (not brochure) the show catalogue list all the breeds exhibitors where to find them etc so anyone you chat to internet wise you can meet up with.
Also its quite warm in there so take a coat thats warm ( for walking from car) but light to carry.
favourite breed go to you ring and check out the breed club stand buy a year book best money you can spend. and !!! if thers a rescue stand support that too.
Im hoping to go but not sure as no one to care for these dogs here it will be first time ive missed in ages
look for gun dogs in catalogue with Fullwell affix thats my affix ;)
I love crufts ,adore it have fun enjoy

Glenys
Thanks for all the useful info Glenys :) Have already got a few mobile numbers, and intend to self-cater too :)
liberty
p.s. Got the email about the cufflinks.
You forgot the spare pair of shoes for a change over half way through the day, makes a big difference.
and the lipsel, cos the airconditioning/heating there dries you out like nowhere else. I suffer for a week with chapped/dry lips if I don't take it with me.
I love it to Glenys but as we are on Sunday, don't expect to visit many stands as the crowds are hard to push through.
If its your first visit there you will love it but make sure you go and stand in the queue for the ladies before you want to go, otherwise you might find yourself standing with your legs crossed for a long time. :-D

And avoid at all costs having a screaming stand up row in the car park over the ginormous cage you insisted on buying and then forced the OH to cart it all the way back to the car

You forgot 'Flirt', although the other two have excelled themselves to say the least. I am only on the first rung of the showing ladder but I'm hooked, I got 4th with my young choc girl under Chris Mills a couple of weeks ago, I was sooo chuffed. Frolic has a fabulous top line, well he is just fabulous all over. :)
