I always thought there were only 3 coat colours, black, brown and landseer.
I was just flicking through my new encyclopedia of the dog (choc lab on front) and on page 346, it says newfoundlands are also found in grey!?
i didnt know you could get grey ones?

There are also brown and white ones too.

Yes, I read that too. For anyone interested, it's a letter to the editor entitled Odd Colour. Very interesting reading.

i was looking for a picture of a brown landseer! but cheers anyway! x

:o Oops! My mistake, sorry!
There was a brown-and-white in the first series of 'The Last Detective' starring Peter Davidson, but for the latest series it has changed into a Saint Bernard. Not that Google throws up any pictures of the first one either.

its no problem! thanks for the help x
do breeders breed them, or are they PTS when they are born?

Being a non-standard colour, they aren't purposely bred for, but they do turn up from time to time in litters. All breeds have their mismarks etc, and this is one of the Newfie ones.

Sibes don't have mismarks, they can come in any colour. One of mine is a bi-eyed white and he wore pink paw prints for a while!!! (sure that one shoudn't be allowed though!!)
