Topic Dog Boards / Visitors Questions / dirtying his bed Help please
- By Guest [gb] Date 28.02.04 11:39 UTC
We have had a young dog for a week, he seems to have settled in well and eating small amounts. Last night he dirtyed his bed and is not him self at all this morning, he has just dirtyed again making no effort at all to move. I bathed him after the first time, wrapped him in a towel and let him just sleep. Loathed to bath him again, shall I just leave him for the time being. he has been drinking but I havn;t offered him any food to day. Thanks any suggestions please. Obvisously if he doesn;t pick up I will take him to the vets.

No suggestions other than getting him checked by the vets as this is not normal

Take  him to the vet I had my puppy with gasric flu this week She needed an antibiotic injection & canikur granules all with good effect

Definitely take him to the vet as soon as possible.

Even though he's settling into a new home and he may be a bit confused, I don't think his behaviour is normal.

Best of luck,

Lisa

Hi,
Took him to the vets, really quite poorly temp of 104, Vet has taken sample, to be sent away and tested. Picked up a little after his jab, on Saturday, but down in the dumps again today, Vet wants to see him again this morning. Thank you to everyone that offered advice. I will keep you posted, poor old Dougal. Thanks agian Polly

Just on my way there again, just as a precaution. He seems down in the dumps again this morning. He did have some chicken and rice and canikur yesterday, but wont eat again today. Even after such a short time of having him its like having another child, you just know when they are out of sorts. He just looks so pathetic, he is only a little Havanese.

Just back now, his temp is now bob on. I think we are getting there. He certainly seems brighter now. Had a little chicken to eat. Will try the scambled egg idea at tea time. Vet is going to call me when he gets his sample results back. So fingers crossed he is on the mend. feel so sorry for him, new house missing his family,a dn now poorly.
Thanks for all your thoughts. Pollyx

Hope he feels better soon Polly.  It's so awful when you can't help them and they can't tell us what's wrong.  :(  Let us know how he's doing.
