Julia have you tried keep changing direction so they watch you?  You can bring them to visit and I'll show you if you like, be a lot easier than explaining. I think I've got that darn virus and I'm too computer illiterate to know how to get rid of it, my inbox won't receive any e-mails, so you will have to phone me.

hi julia
If the halties work why stop using them, i know in an ideal world they wouldnt pull on a normal lead, but my 3 labs all have haltis and i can walk them on my own no probs!! ps just to add i have tried all the well known methods to stop them pulling to no avail, so the haltis are here to stay!!

It's never too late to try and teach a dog basic manners - but the older they get the longer it takes for them to learn that the old stuff, which always used to work, doesn't any more.  Have you tried taking them one at a time to start with?  Just working with one dog is easier as then they don't get confused by you reacting to the other dog (ie, one dog is walking well, but you're still not going forward because the other dog is pulling - this doesn't help the well behaved dog to learn that it's HIS pulling that sometimes means you aren't going forward)

I agree with Milos.  If the halti's are working then there's nothing wrong with keeping on using them.  Okay originally the idea is that they can transfer it to regular collars, but hey, some dogs need them for life and that's not a problem.

If it means you have control and they're well-behaved I'd say stick with what works.
