Hi .is there anyone out there on line who can help ,got up this morning and Lola was still in her bed ,on closer inspection she seems to have srained her back legs ,have not heard back from the vets yet !,she seems a little quiet and is lifting her leg up a bit  ,one leg seems more swollen on the inside of her groin ,than the other she cried a little when i tried to lift her up ,she is eating (gave her a small piece of ham ! she wolfed that down ) she chases the cats all of the time (they are loving waving their bums past her and she can't do anything about it ) and when she is running after them she is amost supersonic !!also the ground is very hard here we think she has twisted or strained herself ,she hates the vets ,it must have been something that happened before she came to us ,but she shakes and growls like crazy ! i know she needs a vet to look at it ,but until they get back to me ,any ideas ? if it is a strain will it hurt treating it as a human strain (heated herb bag for instance ?),she is looking very sorry for herself ! any help would be a reassurance Bye Sue & Lola xx

I would put something warm on it, can't see how it would hurt. I hope she is ok and good luck fingers crossed :)

Until you hear from the vet alternate hot and cold treatment (ie heated bag and bag of frozen peas)  Vet told me to do this when mine had swelling on the leg from pulled ligament.

Have you heard back from your vet yet or is Lola on her feet?

Never feed a dog that may need veterinary treatment in case it needs an operation - hope she is okay and it was just a strain or she slept awkwardly

Hi i  took her to the vets at lunchtime ,he says it looks like she has hurt her Hock and her ankle,he gave her a very strong pain killer and she hobbled out of there ,she does not like being carried and is getting a bit big for that now so would not let me pick her up,,he wants to see her in the morning and depending how she is he may x ray it ,the pain killer seems to have helped, allthough not enough that she can chase the cats ! who are teasing her like mad ,she is such a mad arse though ,i think it's probably just a ligament (allthough thats bad enough ),and i know i should not have fed her but she looked so miserable ....no excuse i know !,while all this was going on today i was in the middle of getting a birthday party together for my sister , then off to the vets ,came back started to cut up a french stick ,and almost cut the top off my finger ,and after a realy sh***y week i burst into tears,and everyone took over .....! still they have all just left ,and we all had a great time in spite of the drama ,me with my throbbing split finger ,&Lola with her poorly legs ,thanks for the words of wisdom though Bye Sue & Lola xx
