Hello
Both my BC's have very dry noses, I've been giving cod liver oil for about a month, could it be to do with this?. Worried as someone advised that they can od on to much vit a and d.

Thanks

why not cut out each vitamin in turn for a week or two to see if there is any improvement? how much extra A or D do you give?

Hi Michelle
I give 2 cod liver oil a day but they both contain vit a and d, I don't give anything else.  I have just got some fish oil and devils claw today so have changed to that. I have given 2 fish oil and 2 devils claw, is that ok????

When should I change to just 1 a day?

My BC has always had a dry nose, she also has very flaky nails and scratchy, cracked pads. The vet didn't seem to think there was a problem, but there must be a reason for it!

Very strange!!
Glad Rosie and Dolly aren't the only ones!!

How are your BC's anyway???, Dolly is getting better with the running up to people and barking, in fact she hasn't done it for ages, fingers x'd she won't do it again!

change to one aday when you see an improvement, around one week. keep a eye on the poos etc with the fish oil.
cut back if they are too runny!
it will be interesting to see what thier noses are like once the central heating is turned off!

Hi Jo,
I'm really glad dolly is doing well at the moment. Its a great feeling when you've cracked it. Unfortunately Meg is going through a stage of hating dogs at the moment, which is causing me a lot of worry. We are seeing a behaviourist, and am consulting another about rehabilitation, but its unfortunate because we have had to stop agility classes for the time being, which i really enjoyed. Fingers crossed that i can get through this dog aggression thing!!

Hi
I'm sure it will be fine and you'll get it sorted.
We are still going to see a Behaviourist for Dolly.
