Hello, My name is Karen I have recently rescued 11 month old Freddie(a Golden Retriever), his mother is Ornamental Dancer KC NO:V01, his dad, Brywen's Prince KC NO:V02.  I only have a three generation pedigree with no mention of Freddie's own kennel name, if in fact he was registered.  Does anyone recognise his parents names? As there is no Affix on either of Freddie's parents names, they were probably not bred by an established breeder and it is very difficult to trace pedigrees without these. The number you have given at the end of the name refers to the breed record supplement volume number in which the litter registration appeared. If you know his date of birth & you know someone who has the gundog section of the BRS, it may be possible to trace it, but it would mean trawling thru' a number of volumes (it comes out quarterly), and there are an awful lot of GRs (nearly 11,000 registered in 2003). The pedigree should include the breeder's name on it.
