Hi folks

I have asked the kennel club this question and in their infinite wisdom have decided to ignore me. I am currently showing an 11 month old puppy and won a special beginners class at a breed champ show.

I would like to enter her in either a maiden or debutant class in current shows but am unsure if I am allowed to because of this result, could anyone please tell me if I am or where I could get an answer.

Just as an addition to this thread I was wanting to ask about Puppies/Juniors winning Graduate Classes.  This is obviously going to happen more at open shows.  To compete in a Novice class, as we all know the exhibit in question can't have won 3 or more classes at an open or Championship show with Minor Puppy, Puppy, Junior classes being excepted.  I was wanting to know if as a 9 month old pup I was to win 3 Graduate classes at Open Shows whether I could still exhibit my girl at Novice level at either a champ or Open Show

Hi Alli, Maiden requires that you have not won a first in any class the only exception is wins in puppy classes of any type. Debutant requires that you have not won a first prize at a Championship Show except in puppy classes of any type. So sorry you can't now enter these two classes as you have won out of them.

The age of the exhibit makes no difference to how you calculate the wins, it is only puppy classes that are discounted.

It is always worth looking at the schedule as the 'special' classes do sometimes differ.
