(I don't know if this goes under behaviour but oh well!)
Hi, I have a 3 year old border collie x called Holly who does agility and loves exercise. She is very well behaved and well socialised. I live next to a field and take her out daily. I throw her toys as far as I can to give her the amount of exercise she needs, the only problem is she chases them and doesn't always bring them back! Half the time I have to run down and search for them myself! I know its not a very big problem, but I've lost quite a few toys in the field now and its costing a fortune buying more! Does anyone know how I can train her to bring her toys back to me ALL the time?

If she sometimes brings them back then perhaps you should only throw them a short distance. Maybe she gets distracted on the longer journeys. :D She'll still run the same mileage. It is also a good idea to play for short periods and then put the toy away so that she doesn't get bored and to keep her keen. You can gradually increase the distance again when she becomes more reliable.

It's amazing how a dog like this improves their reliablility if EVERY time it brings a toy back to you - you find the most amazing food treat in the toy ;)
That's a great idea Digger, would you and Sally check out my post on Think Dog as I would value your opinions as I think that you both give sound advise. Cheers Debbie.
