When I was young, my Granny always used to give the dog a couple of charcoal biscuits, she claims it was to help his digestion.  Any truth in this or is it an old wives tale?

Charcoal biscuits are traditionally given to absorb excess gas :D  Better to prevent it forming in the first place :D

Hi tohme,
This might sound like a daft question, but my Staff is quite gassy!  He's not been nearly so bad since I've changed his food, but he still "lets off" more than the others!  Any suggestions would be most appreciated.

Thanks,
Sarah

The old way was to burn untreated wood very slowly. Then break it up into pieces and give it to your dog. It was very good at absorbing gas and neutralising the stomach.
