Hi

Im been offered a dog of this particular breed / mix and am curious to know what he will be like once he is older.

I know from many pictures I have looked at, that the Dane is a very strong, tall and lean dog. I have also noticed that the Bullmastiff is even stronger, more solid and not as tall, but looks quite similar in the face. except for the Dane having a longer face.

Will the dog be more Dane then Mastiff in attitude and temprement?

Will the dog be as tall as a Dane or as short as the Mastiff?

If you could answe these questions or add any extra information i'd really appreciate it.

Thanks

Who knows it could be like one or the other, both or neither, that is the thing with cross breeds you have know idea what they will look like, how big and even worse what the temperament will be. Hope the parents have been health tested and have no known health problem in their ancestry, as that can be a lottery too.

Well thats him.. IMO he looks more GD then Bullmastiff in the head shape and features.

He was from a group of 5.. and they all look very simlar but have very different markings.. from black-brown-light brown-grey.

He has a slightly shorter nose than a dane pup normally would have and a slightly wider head, which is to be expected. With a dane would would expect a head that is narrower between the ears and a longer muzzle.

I couldn't tell you what he will turn out like...but if you get a Dane stubborness with the weight of the mastiff nad the size of the dane, you could have problems. My 18 month old dane does nothing he hasn't been "asked" to do, and will drop to the floor if you try to move him with his collar and you have NO chance of shifting him... I wouldn't want anything any heavier, I have to say :)

my friend has two litter sisters, both xbs.
they are collieXe.s.spaniel
1 looks more spaniely & is in temperment but not in actions (ie herding behaviour etc)
the more collie looking one is more collie like in trainability but is more like a spaniel when out & about.
to confuse things further the more spaniely one has collie coat colour but spaniel texture
& the more collie like one has the spaniel colouring but the texture of a collie coat.

what im saying is that there is really NO way of knowing what you are going to get. theres alot of genes in there with little way of knowing if they are going to work well together or not.
both of them are nice dogs but neither really one thing or the other so are quite hard to get the training right.
good luck with yours if you procced.
