Hi,
Can anyone help? I printed out a few bits 'n' pieces on Sunday night, went to print a bit more last night and all that comes out is blank paper even though the ink heads run over the paper as usual. I have tried nozzle checks, head cleaning etc. but it still nothing on the sheet! Changed the black catridge tonight as it said it was low and it still isn't printing! What's going on?

Don't know that particular model but if the monitor says it is ready to print, it should do so. Try removing it from the PC reconect and reinstall the driver and see if that sorts it.

when you changed the black cartridge, did the ink cartridge charge or did you just take it out and put a new one in. you shouldnt change them without the cartridge running out first as the printer will not know you have changed it. when your ink cartridge runs out you have a how to button next to the picture of the ink cartridge on screen, follow the insructions and you should be ok.

Yep, I changed it because it said it needed changed after all the nozzle pattern checks I did (But nothing appeared on the paper!). It is going through all the motions showing my print previews etc. and it looks like it's printing but as I say.....blank pieces of paper! :(

this happened to my Mum on her computer firstly because her black cartridge had run out and she didn't realise, secondly because when she installed the new cartridge she forgot to take off the plastic seal on the bottom before installing it!
Have you tried to print something in a colour other than black? if it will print in say red or blue then it is a problem with the black cartridge! I have bought a black cartridge (different printer to yours) once, that actually had NO INK in it and had to return it to the shop

but they replaced it and it was o.k. from there on.
I can only suggest as others have, just start at step one again and go over everything to reinstall the cartridge and it should work :)

I have also had cartridges with no ink in them.
The Epson inkjets (although great little printers) are notorious for clogged print heads.
Keep using the head cleaning utility as much as 20 times sometimes to clear the blocked nozzles, if that doesn't work try another cartridge.
If all else fails it's almost cheaper (if you shop around) to buy a new printer with cartridges installed than to buy two new Epson cartridges !

I've been using compatibles and they've been working brilliantly up until now, I suspect that might be the problem??????

Someone said to me that the ink refill kits (non branded ones) can be too acidic for some printers and they destroy the print heads. I personally find ink jet printers too much trouble to keep them working and the cartridges too expensive. I prefer laser printers.

it could be that you just have a faulty cartridge. epson compatables can be just as good as originals and only a third of the price. i used to sell all types of ink cartridges and epson were definetly the most popular. take your cartridge back and you should have no problem getting an exchange or refund, due to it being faulty.

Hi
I was advised to use a genuine cartridge every fourth time if I wanted to use compatables without trouble - it certainley worked for me
