please help, got a 4yr old king charles from dogs home 1 week ago, accepted dog with kennel cough, as was on antibiotics. Has not eaten even a handful of food since we brought him home. Have tried almost everything, think he does want to eat, was wondering if it could be his throat being sore and anyone know of anything which he may try. Things we have tried so far as:
Tinned dog food ( good stuff)
Dried dog food
Complete dry dog food
Liver ( ate a tiny bit)
Tuna
Egg and Tuna
Cold meat (ate a tiny bit)
Biscuits (dog and chocolate ones!)
Milk
Please if anyone has any advice would be grateful as we love our charlie and are getting worried.

Milk - not terribly good for dogs
Chocolate - a definite no no, chocolate is poisonous to dogs!
Decide on a scrummy dog food, Nature diet is a good one, vacuum packed wet food containing only meat, rice and vegetables.

In the morning place tablespoonful of food in bowl and leave for 10 minutes.  If not eaten within that time remove.  Feed NOTHING at all until the evening, put down tablespoonful of food in bowl again and repeat.  No dog will starve itself to death, however dogs are VERY good at training their owners to offer tastier and tastier morsels; just like children they can sense that meal time is a cause of tension and that they can be in control!

Relax, as long as he is drinking he will be fine.  If after 3 days he has eaten absolutely NOTHING (and you are SURE of this) then take him for a check up.
