Im sorry I cant be of much use really, just wanted to say that I hope everything goes well at the vets and it turns out to be something simple, I know dogs can get alsorts of lumps and bumps just from having a bit of a ruff and tumble. :) fingers crossed for you that it is something like that. Hi Julia
Try not to worry - I know its easy to say that but it's no good thinking anything at all until you've seen the vet.  We went through the same thing a couple of weeks ago and it's awful not knowing what something is.  Ella has now had five lumps in total - all but the latest have disappeared as quickly as they arrived.  I do hope Maggie's is nothing and I hope all goes well.  Do let us know.
Best wishes
Alex

Try not to worry until you have seen the vet, its probably a fatty lump, but to be on the safeside ask for a needle asperation (sp) to be done so they know, the vet got it wrong in my case and whereas the dog could have been saved we lost her as although they told us it was just a pressure point and nothing to worry about I still asked about  6 vets in the practice over the following 5 years, ( I had at this point no knowledge of needle asperations so did not know that I should insist on this) they would look up the notes and see pressure points and go along with this.  When she developed alot of lumps, I insisted on going to oncologist, and she tested the lump it was cancerous, you cannot begin to imagine the anger I felt at my own vets, I am now no longer with them but it was too late for my Ebony  if I could have sued them believe me I would and I am not a vindictive person, but this was my Ebony and they had totally let us down).  Please do not think I mean to worry you I don't, in all probability it is harmless labs are prone to fatty lumps, I just do not want another person to go through what we did when it could have been avoided.

it could be a hystycytoma (sp) which is quite harmless but the vet may remove it and send it away or he may leave it as they often go in a few months
Hope it's good news for you whatever it is

Hi my CD chumleys, she's doing well now thanks and the babies are fighting fit. I can't remember if I e-mailed you Sarah, I'm like a goldfish at the best of times but I havn't slept soundly since Friday so my brains all the more fuddled. She had four but I didn't get the yellow girl that I had hoped for. I will e-mail you tonight when I'm trying to stay awake.
Julia can you e-mail me I have lost your address, glad you didn't get a horror story with Mags. Bless you for  last night, I'll be there for you too.
