hi
my boxer bitch has had a vaginal discharge since we got her at 8 weeks after having a vaginal swab we were told that it was vaginitus and would clear up after her first season hopefully, well she's 10 months now and still has the discharge but has'nt had a season do you think the vaginitus could be the reason why? i thought she was in season about 3 weeks ago as she was flirting madly with the boys, weeing alot and her vulva looked swollen but day or so later ,still no bloody discharge and she did'nt look swollen ( this sounds horrible but it looked like she had a white head on it which made it look a bit red and swollen) so it was'nt a season!

sometimes waht you describe could have been your dogs 1st season but perhaps not a true one, puppies 1st seasons are often overlooked and thay often don't show full signs of being in season so i would take it that that was it and count 6mnths from now till her next season(of course she may come in sooner) if your dog still has problems with vaginitis then seek a 2nd opinion as it is something that can bee cleared up.
