hi can anyone help i put my dog in the front garden to do her business i went back indoors , then 5 mins later i got a chap at the door it was one of my neighbours telling me that my gate had blown open and that a neighbour 2 doors down was flinging stones at my dog.when i went out my dog was back in the garden looking shook up another neighbour said that my dog got a fright and she crunching on all 4s when i went into the garden to get her could anyone advice me what to do  shirley

Put a secure latch on the gate and don't leave her unattended in the garden.

thanks i usually watch her from my livingroom window , but today i didn't cause i was in the bedroom getting dreesed , is there anything i can do about the neighbour and his behaviour? not so long ago i saw him hurdling stones at a cat that had wandered into his garden is this not cruelty to animals? 

He sounds a nasty person, but then, not everybody likes animals, especially not in their garden. When I was gardening today I found dog poo on my front lawn - now my dogs don't go out the front because it isn't secure, so it was somebody else's dog loose that did it. And I dug up some cat poo when I was weeding - I don't have a cat, so again, that's from someone else's animal. I wouldn't throw stones at them, but I have a powerful water-pistol to give trespassing cats a good fright and discourage them. The best thing you can do is make sure your dog is secure on your property.

Shirley they do it deliberately my neighbour opened up his back garden to make a driveway & he takes the car out in the morning and leaves the gates open while hes out,I dont let Rosie or Emma out unless I watch them too scared someone would take them

i know how you feel. but i am so wound up about it that i want to confront him about his behaviour. but now i am going to wait until my husband comes home and see what he says.

just out of curiosity do you have a back garden? i don't mean to be rude but its quite unusual for people to use their front garden for their dog?

but your neighbour is still bang out of order he'll pick on the wrong dog one day and the owner will give him a punch on the nose!!

If you make sure that your dog is secure then your neighbour will not be able to throw stones at your dog.  As much as you argue that this is cruelty try and see it from your neighbour's point of view, they do not want a dog in their garden and maybe frightened of it and if you confront him about his behaviour he is likely to say that your dog should be under control; and he is right.
