My mum is coming to crufts with me and she has a disabled badge ,does anyone know where the parking area is and would we have to be there early to get a place?

There is a designated disabled parking carpark but it can still be quite a trek
to the mail halls,I think the chances of you getting really close would be slim
You wont have to pay any car parking fees though so thats 5 pound saved.

There is a special disabled carpark, but I think you might have to apply for it before hand when you send your entries.  I may be thinking of another show.  There is also disabled carprking outside some of the halls so if your lucky you may get there, but you will have to arrrive bery early due to it filling up very quickly.

If your mum can't walk far (assuming thats the problem) maybe it would be best to take a wheelchair or something.

Schedual should tell you all.

Hi, early arrivers with Disabled apssed can park in the areas at the hall entrances.  After that is full the car park designated for disabled (the West one I think, but not sure) has a shuttle bus with low loading platforms for wheel chair and dog trolley access.  They run right through the day, and pick up again to take back to the car parks.

Thanks everyone
my mum has a walking stick she keeps saying she doesn't need a chair yet and i do agree with her .she has musculer problems and sometimes her back gives way .
we will be having plenty of stops as my mums partner has also got bad legs ,she has had 2 knee replacements and can still be in some pain.

I am sure the NEC group offers a wheelchair hire scheme
we used it for my brother when he went to a concert.

I would strongly advise you to get a chair if you can it really is a bad day for able bodied people
its shattering, even if she only uses it to sit when her back is playing up or to watch the breeds
you can put your shopping in it too :-)

Hello

I'd go with Carolyns idea too. My mom came to Crufts year before last and has "walking difficulties" and bad back she does not USE a wheelchair and went to Crufts she had to miss loads. Took her to the seing/knitting show thingy and got a wheelchair. She was great. Crufts is a lot of waling through load and loads of halls she will appreciate it honestly. And no chairs by rings are ever free, the standing is worse than the walking according to my Mom

I will certainly tell them what you have said ,thanks.

Quite a while ago i remember one of them borrowing a wheelchair for a day out in Blackpool because one of them had just had an operation, if we can get one again we will just in case there arn't any available on the day.
