I didn't do it on purpose!  I was trying to eat it and it shot out of my hand and I sort of batted it when I was trying to catch it and it landed in the loo.  Been in there overnight now and is starting to look like the man in the moon!!  Urgh.  Really, really, don't want to put my hand in there :(

No, I was eating as I walked upstairs.  Trying to carry coffee and button mushrooms to come on here if you must know.  And Norman can't eat it - I've treid to kill it with toilet duck but that didn't work.  Now, can I have some sensible suggestions please.  Like you'll come and get it for me. :)

  I refuse to put my cutlery down there.  Have tried with my paint stirring stick but can't stab it - it keep bobbing.  Do you think it'll eventually disintegrate???  I wouldn't care if it matched the bathroom suite :)

Try burying it with loo roll, if you can't sink it you're gonna have to go mushroom fishing :D

I've tried the loo roll thing - that didn't work.  And I don't own a toilet brush as I don't like the thought of them sitting around in the bathroom after they've been down there. (no offence to toilet brush owners).

Any other suggestions?  My mate has a shot gun but I don't want to chip the enamel :)

Long time ago my son was given a portable, electronic chess set for his birthday (he was 11). We were driving down to Slovenia/Croatia to visit friends and so it was going to be very useful on the journey. One day, while we were staying in friends holiday home in Croatia, he took the chess set with him into the loo (long session) and dropped one of the tiny pieces down the loo :D He was devastated :( As the friends didn't have any rubber gloves, Muggins had to put her hand in the loo and fish around amongst the contents to retrieve the piece :( :( It's wonderful what disinfectant can do, Joe - I'm still alive to tell the tale :D

put a freezer bag round your hand and grab it... then turn bag inside out   wa-la..... dry hands and no mushroom

Get a large bucket of water and tip it down the loo, it gets rid of floaters so why not button mushrooms? Incidently large black field mushrooms are much nicer and easier flushing :-)

Jeangenie, I will not ever put my hand down there.  It might be clean, several times flushed water but only I know what was there earlier.  OK, I'm a girl but I'd rather buy a new toilet.  Why do you think God invented bleach and toilet duck - so you don't have to put your hands in there.  You are not helping.  And girls are good at that sort of thing.  They can change nappies without gagging for gods sake :)

I will try to answer you as delicately as possible.  I presume it's the angle I sit but I don't get them and if there's anything lurking then that's what bleach is for isn't it?  My loo is open to any 'How Clean is Your House?' inspection.  However, if you put your hand down it you are not putting your hand in my biscuit tin.
