That's great :) :) You should open a bottle and have a drink to keep Marmaduke company. Fingers crossed that he keeps on improving.

Fab news today...Marmaduke has eaten some food and so far, kept it down :-) :-)  The vet is even now talking about possible coming home date...I'm so thrilled...to think only a few days ago, we were giving him just hours to live.

No-one is still any the wiser as to what made him so ill...it wasn't poisoning as such and none of the other tests confirmed anything.

Funnily enough, the vet did question us on whether we'd given him chocolate because it was such a similar effect, but knowing how dangerous that can be, I would never feed any of my dogs that.  I guess it is possible he found some out walking and ate it so quickly I never even noticed but I'd be surprised because he normally walks so close to me that I notice when he picks something up, even a leaf or a stick.  But I guess we'll never find out...

All I can say is, thank heavens the worst now seems to be over and my boy can consider coming home for tonnes of TLC.

Thank you for all your support...you've given me great hope...

Sorry, only just seen this thread, it was agonising waiting to read the outcome. So glad that he's turned the corner. He's obviously a very special little guy. :)
Hope he's able to come home very soon.

Excellent I bet you can't wait to get Marmaduke
- By JulietCW [gb] Date 20.02.04 18:25 UTC
Well, spoken to the vet tonight, and all things being equal, it looks like we can get him tomorrow. Hurray!!

He's obviously fed-up with all this treatment and just wants to come home now and be cuddled properly! ;-)

I can't believe how quickly he has recovered from knocking on death's door literally, to clawing his way back up and now perking up enough to warrant coming off his drips and eating a bit of food.

My clever, brave boy...

I don't think I'll be taking him out for a walk for a good while yet though because he looks like a cruelty, starved case now and I don't want the RSPCA knocking on my door trying to prosecute me! :-)  Having said that though, knowing them, unless Rolf Harris is there...it's fairly unlikely!  He he!

I shall be sure to tell Marmaduke you've all been rooting for him and even though he's pretty weak, I'm sure he'll give you all a little wag of his tail and try to drown you with slobber! :-)

MY BOY IS HOME! :-) :-)

He's now sound asleep under the table snuggled up with his brother and their both snoring!

He looks a mess, smells terrible but I don't care..he's home and that's all that matters.

He's got enough medication to sedate an elephant so now I've got to remember to feed him 4 times a day plus all the tablets, liquids, powders and everything else at other times of day too!  Nightmare!

Thank you all so much for all your kind words...it feels great to give you all such positive news...:-)

Brilliant! What a brave little dog! You must be exhausted with worry. Have a cup of tea (it's too early for anything stronger ;) )
