Very warm but can be nippy when entering/leaving.
comfy shoes, your own food and drink in disposible cartons,
quite a few pound coins as there are so many offers for a pound or 2.
a good size holdall as the plastic bags dig into your hands when they are
full of the things you really really needed ;-)
Biggest hint is write down the full numbers of the carpark your in
there are tons and tons of people wandering around trying
to find there cars in one of millions of car parks
(well feels like millions when your tired and want to go home)

Good hint on the food and drink side...don't buy it there it's way to expensive and not too tasty either.

The NEC is bigger than it seems when you want to go home, but another hint the train goes straight in no waiting outside at all.

Hi Lea, think Peelable layers :)  There is a cloakroom where you can leave coats, but it gets full quite early.
bye

So, on my list so far is.
Ruck sack for food, and all the things I impulse buy (do they accept credit cards???)
Food to keep us going ffrom 6.30 to when we leave 6 to get to mates to stay the night.
Layers of clothes, but would probably be better to leave coats in car and brave the nippyness from car to rooms.
Anything I have missed????????

If you get to the cloakroom early enough it will be OK (it is just round the corner frojm the main entrance where you come in from the plaza.  Otherwise you are very welcome to leave them at the benches with our stuff, if you want.

bye

Take comforatble t-shirt and small jumper for inside because at times it can be quite chilly inside in some halls.  Take a light rain coat because it is most likely to rain when you are outside going into or coming out of the venue!

Oh a number one thing to remember is money and if you have them already your passes!!!

I'm so jealous, would love to go to Crufts too but have to work. You will have great day, it's huge! My favourite bit was looking at all the different breeds and talking to the breeders. They have stalls with every breed imaginable. And the huge market where you can buy anything dog related- stuff you don't often see in the shops. I was so busy looking at all this that I didn't get to see much of the actual show at all, had to catch up on the telly!! Have a lovely time.
- By Lea Date 19.02.04 21:20 UTC
This will be my first year, After wanting to go for 15 years!!!!!!!!!!!!
Think I will be dragged away from the stalls, as am taking mum with me (she has never been either, so is a real girls outing!!!!)
I have started my list of things I NEED. Just going to have to keep in check, impulse buying!!!!!!!
Thanks Harriet.

No, take the poor wee unused thing out for an outing, but don't let it spend itself on anything :D
- By Lea Date 19.02.04 21:50 UTC
Would you be able to resist Lesley???????????

If I was you I'd wear a few layers rather than one big jumper- you could tie your coat round your waist or put it through the handle of your bag, maybe take Gwen up on that offer- I imagine the queue for the cloakroom a big one and when you're tired at the end of the day- will you really want to queue up again?  Even if the car park is almost empty when you get there- park round the edge rather than somewhere in the middle (even if means walking an extra 50 years or so)- so much easier when leaving- car parks are easy enough to find- and so is the car if you're only looking up one side etc.  I don't think the food is that extortionate- best to take a bit of something but don't pack as if there was a food shortage.  Last year GSD's finished VERY late and it was raining sooooo hard when we left- the force of the rain actually hurt- not a nice drive home in soaking wet clothes!  I wouldn't bother with the train either as the queues are usually terrible.

Thats very true about the coats Stacey :D
And good tip on Car. I will be the only one with a sense of direction!! So will have to try and find somewhere to park that I will remember. Someone said about writing down the carpark number, so will deffinatly do that!!!!!
Thought about takingt lunch, and a few snacks. And some water. But stopping for cups of tea, (cant go 2 days without Tea!!!!!!!!!!) LOL
Have to go in car as coming from Lincolnshire-crufts-Tamworth-crufts-Lincs in 2 days!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Think a bottle or two of wine will be needed that evening!!!!!!!!!
Think I am glad I am not going with dogs!!!!!! At least we can run to the car with just rucksacks!!!!!!!!!!!!
Lea :D
