can someone advise me about obtaining a lisence to rear and sell puppies? I would be most gratefull if someone could help me. I bought a grooming/boarding business 2 years ago and it just hasent given me the profits I'd hoped it would for the money I have invested. I have been speaking to some other kennel owners from my local area and one person advised me to apply for a lisence to buy in and rear puppies for sale. Ive been told this is the best way to pick up my business and make the profits go up, as you do not have any of the responsibilities or work of being a breeder, this is allready done for you by your supplier, all you do is buy the puppies in and sell them. I would like to find out more about this and also how do you find breeders to supply you? the person I spoke to wasent willing to go into too much detail, I suppose they dont want too much competition and it seems to be a case of who you know not what you know. Is there anyone here who has a lisenced rearing establishment who would be willing to advise me? hope you can help, thankyou.

.....unless it's serious. In which case Guest you're on the wrong site. Try www.moneygrabbers or www.whogivesadamnthey'reonlypuppies. Good luck

Guest, I think this is a really good idea. And hey, lets not give a thought to the bitch at the puppy farm, mind you she will probably have been hit over the head with a shovel and killed once you have the puppies.
No wonder you couldnt make a go of the kennels if this is your attitude towards animals.

I think you need to ask the question why was the person offering you the 'advice' not willing to tell you where they get the pups from. If you think selling puppies will increase the profile of your business you'd be right. No true animal lover would use your business at all!!

I think you will find this is the wrong way to take your business. Most dog-lovers are doing their damnedest to make the selling of pups this way made illegal, because it is considered not only unethical but cruel to boot.

I think you need to ask yourself if the boarding/grooming business didn't work then how would the puppy business work? Every dog owner needs a groomer or boarding kennels at some time in their lives but not all people want a puppy.
Any business needs dedication and promotion, so i suggest you scrap the puppy idea and concentrate on making work the business you already have.
I think that it is time that we stopped replying to 'Guests'

I've run my own dog grooming business for 16 years and if you're ANY GOOD at your work, then you'll make a very good living without dealing in puppies!

I wasn't going to feed the trolls but as everyone else has...............
It is obvious why you aren't making a profit from your boarding and grooming business. If I needed my dogs boarded or groomed I sure as hell wouldn't trust someone like you with them.

Could you imagine boarding an 'entire' dog with this person!!! I can see the ££££££ in their eyes now.

This may be my favourite post of the week! Guest, if you are looking for a seedy, morally repugnant sideline to your failing business why not set up a call girl or blue movie business? A use for your premises which would be less offensive to most of us on this forum! ;) Oh, I know this had to be a WUM, but please, at least it gave us an opportunity to vent a bit. And sorry Admin, for feeding them again! :)

I think this may be a genuine post im afraid. Some people really do have no idea. I suggest that the guest picks up some leaflets or gathers some information on 'Puppy Farming' there are many websites guest that will explain to you the cruelty involved in 'Puppy Farming' (This is where you will be obtaining your puppies from)

I hope that you abandon this 'idea' when you have read even a snippet of information about Puppy Farming.
Lisa. ps you have no hope of finding nice homes for your puppies as you will find only the extremely unknowledgable would consider buying a puppy from anything other than an excellent breeder of well reared and bred pups.
