Hi i wonder if anyone can help me, each time i try stacking missy she swings her bum out towards where the judge would be, she will be 6 months at the end of the month so i know she is still young. I think part of the problem may be the fact that i am unsure of what i am doing :-( , we go to ringcraft each week but they have not had a bull mastiff in before and none of them seem to know how she should be stacked or how she should be walked up and down. The collar they thought should be under her chin at the top of her head but she hated it and just refused to walk this week. Any ideas would be gratefully recived, thanks Emma.
There are a few Bullmastiff people on the board that do show Emma.
Dont give up hope!
Have you had a look at the Bullmastiff leagues website as there are some
photo's of show winners in show pose on their site.
Their address is www.bullmastiff-league.co.uk
Sorry useless at doing links!
The only time (I think) that a Bullmastiff should have the collar 'under her chin' is
on the stand (stack) otherwise I think Bullies can be moved freely without
the need for 'stringing' which is moving the dog with collar/lead under their
chin at the top of their heads.
I think the ringcraft club might be getting confused with how some people show Boxers ;)
If you can get Missy used to running up and down and on a triangle on a 'loose'
lead (resting on her shoulders, at the bottom of her neck) at a nice trot then this will be better.
Kind Regards
Kirstine and the Boxers :)

Hi Emma, i dont stack my youngsters i free stand them they look much better once they can do that on there own then you can try and
stack but dont make a big thing about it, in the show ring i like to see a Bullmastiff freestand looks good but some times they wont
so you have to stack but be slow and firm, as for moving again depends what your dog is like you can have a loose lead or string up i do both, move so the dog strides out.

Hi all thank-you very much for the information, i have not been very well so i have not been able to get on pc. I understand what you are both saying and am continuing to try what works best with missy, she will do anything for food but this seems to make her to over enthusiastic. On tuesday we have been invited over to brighton ringcraft so i am hoping to see a bullie there, i think this is my problem as i am yet to see one show!!
All the local open shows in my area do not have a class for bullmastiffs and my ringcraft have advised me to enter AVNSC. I am still hoping to make it to crufts and of course this would give me an idea of what we should look like, i do get my hubbie to come and look at me pratice but he cannot tell and missy and i would be better off dribbling a football, then he could tell me if i was doing it right :D .. I shall keep going though and put more pratice in and any other tips would be very welcome, Emma.
