What diet do you feed your border collies?

Spice is now 16weeks and we have given up on ped.chum! We are giving her naturediet puppy and some small amount of eukanuba(?sp) puppy, gradually reducing the dried in favour of naturediet. She cut herself down to two meals a day a couple of weeks ago,she now eats at approx.9.30am and 5 pm.

For treats she has veggies, raw carrot, apple. Also some cooked veg according to what we are having.

Still not sure if this is the correct diet for her,so any advice on your own experiences would be much appreciated. :)

She now weighs 10.2kgs. but is certainly not fat! All legs and fluffy fur!

I have nine Border Collies and they all thrive on Naturediet.

I feed mine on Royal Canin, she is doing very well on it, I had to keep swapping around when she was a pup as she was a fussy eater. I also use a little Naturediet or raw mince to mix in with her complete as she can still turn her nose up at a bowl of dry food.

The only thing I might be slightly worried about with using just Naturediet, is there is no crunch to keep the teeth cleen.

If she likes it and is thriving on it, stick with it.

Teeth was my main worry when I changed to Naturediet but I was worrying needlessly.  Their teeth have never been better, I think it might be to do with the carrot.

Hi,mine are all on BARF,mainley raw chicken wings, but also raw(ish) veg ,offal, raw meat, fish & occassionly porridge ,cottage cheese, goats milk. also table scraps as & when. as a back up i keep a bag of burns which i believe is the best comlete dryed,i have also used naturediet very happily & would again if i stopped doing the barf!

Thanks everyone! Naturediet it is then, especially as she seems to like it so much.

Good point on the teeth cleaning tho' I should have considered that a bit more, with it being a 'soft diet'.Spice does eat raw veg.so has to bite and chew, also we give her dental cleaning chews now and then plus she has nylabone type chew toys.

I think I will look at Burns as I have seen it mentioned before to replace the eukanuba dried and combine a little dried with her 'soft' food.

Also need to investigate some kong recipes, cottage cheese sounds good, but maybe a bit messy, ;) so that one can be for the non carpet areas,so far I have used some of her meal in her kong,it keeps her 'busy' for ages!
