I'm feeling rather fed up .... our beloved neighbours, who actually live quarter of a mile away, have a quarry business, and we are used to our private lane being a sea of mud all the time he has lorries going in (carrying goodness only what) to fill in the holes, and carrying out sand & ballast.

Now they have succeeded in knocking down 2 telegraph poles - and BT tell us that they will both have to be replaced, which means that we could be phoneless - and internet-less for up to 10 days.   BT will provide a mobile phone in the circumstances, but can't do anything about the interenet line!

How will I survive, just checking CD in the odd 5 mins at work???

No good trying for broadband then Margot?

I would be lost too, I couldn't get on line yesterday. I panicked and after trying various things (including phoning the service provider) I decided it was the computer so rushed the thing to the local comp shop for first aid to be told by a lad about 17!!! my "modem" is fine :) shamefaced and embaressed I shuffled out and when I got back home investigated, and discovered I had somehow managed to "unplug" the telephone ext that runs from the socket to the computer....Duhhhhhhhh...stupid does not manage to cover it. somedays. :)
They should provide "patches" to help reduce the withdrawl symptoms :)

My phone line went dead for 5 minutes today. Luckily I've got a telephone box at the end of the road. I was still 'on hold' when my daughter ran up to tell me the line was back on. Never did get through to BT. The panic we had for those few minutes was awful. Don't know how I'd last for ten days ;) Hope it doesn't tae that long for you. :D

I feel your pain Margot ... 10 days without Champdogs is like a prison sentence. :D

Remember though that you're a Champ-goddess - you can handle anything, even something dreadful like this!!
