Just after christmas we adopted a cross breed bitch puppy, she is now nearly 13 weeks old and full of beans!!  My question is how do i know when she is coming into season? 

I want to be fully prepared as i have a horny 4 year old golden retriever and i would hate for any "accidents" to happen.  We are going to have her spayed as soon as it is possible but our vet had advised us to let her have her first season.  As a result of this my boy is going for a little holiday up my hubby's fathers while she has her "girly time"!

But what are the signs? What am i looking for?  Will she let me know whats happening?  Sorry for all the questions but as you can tell i've never owned a little lady before!  Any info really appreciated.

i expect your boy will let you know & it will be awhile after that that they can get up to any mischief! expct her 1st season.....Er...when it comes! anytime between 6-12months as a rule,but some abit sooner some abit longer! she will bleed abit & start to clean herself alot,so ull notice that,though sometimes a 1st season can be quite light,once the bloody discharge turns clearer this is the"danger Period" for mischiefs!
