I am the owner of an 8 month old Westie, and on the whole he is a great dog, most of the time. When out walking in woods or open fields, he does have this annoying tendency to roll about in what I suspect to be fox, goose and other animal poo. He keeps rubbing his neck in it, and it has got to the stage now where I daren't let him off the lead in case he does it again, and of course this is not fair on him. As you can imagine, this stuff stinks to high heaven. I don't mind giving him a bath, but every day gets a bit much, and Westies can suffer from skin problems. Has anyone got any much appeciated suggestions?

If anyone knew the secret to stopping dogs rolling in animal excrement they would be a millionaire :D

It is a dog thing :)

You leave the bucket of warm water, sponge, shampoo and towel by the door ready for your return.  ;)

tell me about it I had visitors arrange for the dogs this weekend !! so i wanted the looking there best i decided to nip them into the next door field just to let off a bit of steam before the people arrived and of course all five of them roled in fox muck!! what a great advertisment for the breed!! ;)

We have found adding tea tree to the shampoo gets rid of the horrible fox smell! and may stop nasty skin diseases like mange.
