Where can i find out where my nearest ring class is i really want to take my young dog. I have been told to ring the kennel club will they be able to help me as i do not want to travel far from where i live.
The KC will be able to tell you of any ring classes registered with them. They will also be able to tell you of any local dog show societies who in turn should be able to tell you where your nearest ringcraft is. You can also ask at your local library, check out adverts in pet shops, vets etc.
Just a thought but perhaps we could list any ring craft/obedience classes we all know of, under an information section for visitors to see where their nearest one is? To start with there is John's club held in Princes Risborough Football Club hall, Princes Risborough.
would forget about showing if i were you, its all shirt lifters and eccentrics who dress up their dogs and talk to the plants in their garden! is that really what you want out of life??? ;-)

I run a ringcraft club in Bradford West Yorkshire ..... West Riding Canine Ringcraft ..... every Sunday from about 7.15 at the Eccleshill Methodist Church Hall (by Morrisons at Five Lane Ends). We welcome all breeds and ages also all handlers but do offer special training to Junior Handlers (Yorkshire Juniors). Cost annual family membership £3.50 plus 50p per head through the door each week. Incidentally I was told this morning that our charges are very cheap the enquirer had been quoted as much as £30-£40 for a course of 12 lessons.
Whilst it is a good idea to join a breed club, my enquirer said that she had a Chocolate Lab and had been advised to join the Golden Ret. Club.
Hold one in stevenage, anyone whos interested PM me, no membership fee and £1 a dog a night. also have junior handling class for all aged under 16 years.
Also have started running training days once a year for anyone who is interested.
