Just an update from the topic of approved routes for the passport system. My boy arrived from the US on Saturday morning, on a normal flight & had his crate sealed by a vet in Chicago. He then had a direct flight to Manchester, landed at the kennels for 11am, vet checked him over, faxed the paperwork to DEFRA, & they released him at lunchtime today! Hows that for quick service, i was impressed. So, any dog that is arriving in this country on the passport system but is going into quarantine for early release, does NOT have to travel on an authorized route. This only applies to dogs that are not going into kennels on arrival. Hope this info helps anyone else who is thinking of doing the same. Sue.
