Topic Dog Boards / General / What do Pedigree Petfoods know??!!

A while ago I completed one of those survey forms for a competition with Pedigree Pet foods.  In the bit where it asks you to put your breed of dog (V. small box) I put ESS.

This morning I got a call from Pedigree Petfoods.  Intially I thought I had won something but they were only phoning to ask a question!  They had been racking their brains for ages but didn't know what type of breed an ESS was!  She sounded so surprised when I told her and said she had never heard that before.

It's a good job I don't buy petfood from them!

I had the same call as I put ECS  (English Cocker Spaniel)  they then asked me the name and age of my dog  and what food I feed, which just so happened, wasn't pedigree........lol.

I've got an ECS too but there wasn't enough room to put that too!

Ah but you can't blame UK companies for not knowing what an ECS is as we don't use the term English Cocker in the UK - it's the Americans & some other countries who use this term. In the UK, they are just Cocker Spaniels ;-) No excuse for not knowing ESS though :-)

LOL

A couple of years ago nan filled in a form and put in"australian shepherd" for one of the breeds.  We got things thu like puppy welcome and we owned a crossbreed!!!

Phoned up, they didn't have australian shepherds on the database, well they were even OFF the import registar list by then and been in the country for years!!!

Well Its all sorted now!!! :)

Actually I have just realised that I have a WCS (Working Cocker Spaniel) and she came from a Welsh speaking breeder in Wales so she isn't really English!!  She didn't understand English for a while either!
