TYammy is not being daft, she is being a MUm. Most bitches will not allow other dogs anywhere near their pups for a t leat two weeks, after that they may allow them to be in the same room, but not near the box, then gradulaly will allow them a peek at the pups, but not allow them to actually come in contact. then gradually once pups are rtunning about she may allow supervised gentle introductions, but any sign of being rough, she will go into protection mode.
I have never had any of mine allow their relatives to actually be with the pups until 3 to four weeks old, adn in some cases Muym is still giving the others filthy looks if they show too much interest at 6 weeks!
My bitches who are very sociable with their own kind spend the first two weeks withpups away from all theothers, thenat two weeks they come doen into the kitchen, and Mum sets up guard over the pups, and the others scuttle past for a loo break averting their gaze if they know what is good for them. Then things go gradually after that, be guided by your bitches reaction. Also most male dogs, ande maiden bitches can be frightened by young puppies, and need to be able to get right away from them if there isn't to be problems.
In my case t6he other bitches will ahve had litters themselves so know not to push their luck with new Mum, but when I have had a bitch with a maiden daughter resident, and Mum was having a sedcond litter, I had to watch more carefully.
