my male GSD mounts everything! he is making life hell, he mounts the legs of visitors, jumps all over my teenage daughter and harrassess our aged mongrel bitch (dont worry she is spayed thank goodness) to the point where she bares her teeth and snaps at him! we dont want to have him castrated as we dont want to spoil his looks or personality, he is a lovely dog apart from this one problem. when we rang his breeder she suggested we get a bitch and allow him to take out his frustrations on her so to speak, this will calm him down. I must admit, the idea is growing on me having a litter of puppies would be lovely, my daughter is very keen, but I would be worried that if we had the bitch spayed after her litter, he would revert back to the behaviour he is showing just now please HELP!

That is extremely bad advice you have been given! Allowing him to mate will undoubtedly make him worse - and who in their right mind will sell you a bitch simply for your dog to assault? That breeder is completely barking.

Chances are, he'll grow out of it. For goodness sake dont follow your breeders advice - he/she is not fit to breed dogs if that is the only help offered. Presumably that is how your boy came about in the first place, because someone thought "what a nice idea".

You don't say how old he is, but if he is an adult, and is as oversexed as this, then breeding from him is a bad idea as it will only perpetuate the problem, the unwitting purchasers of his puppies will have the same nightmare. If you find it a problem, don't even consider inflicting it on others.
