We went to Horley and District today at Ardingly, they put everyone in the sand school , which is ok when it is dry , but today it looked like they had watered it all over.
I did not see a clean dog there as they were all wading through sticky sand.
Our Newfs were soaked and the sand was sticking to them all over, a lady next to us had samoyds and they were bright yellow  , it was disgusting.
If you stood still for to long you sank in a puddle of water.
Surely they should make sure the venue is clean and dry before the show.
Just got home and my feet have been soaked all day , looks like i have trench foot !! yuk!!

Anyone else suffer there today?

Only ever been once Peanuts, once was enough. The trouble with sand it will stain the dogs with light coats, not nice with Crufts coming up and think of the poor judges they must have been filthy by the end of the day.

Ardingly is not too far for me, but I will not go to the winter shows there.  It is always wet, dogs with white legs go yellow and it stains.  My feet are always freezing and out of two dogs I have tried to show there, neither have enjoyed it.  Takes for ever to clean the car when you get home, would have had more fun on the beach.

I fail to see why so many societies use it as everyone complains.

I used to compete there with horses as a teenager...they always came home disgustingly filthy after the winter shows...I'd imagine its horrific for showing dogs!

I go there and yes its cold, and damp but Its better then alot of venues.  Personally never had wet feet from there but a shoe with the slightest hole I throw in the bin!!!!

Yes dogs to get mucky BUT everyones dog is slighty muddy!!!

Infact I was muddier then the dogs when they jumped up at me!!!
