Topic Dog Boards / Showing / First night at Ringcraft

Hiya...

Had my first night at Ringcraft tonight... thanks to the kind people on this forum who pointed me to Roade Ringcraft in Northants. Very nice group of people.

Sheesh... Jack my Cairn made me work heh ;). He wanted to meet and play with every other dog there, and made a girlfriend of a French Bulldog called Daisy who is as mad as him, but too old... jack is 17 weeks and she is over 6 months! he's not a toy dog he's a CAIRN ;).

His final effort was at last ok, he had got over some of his earlier excitement... he made the up and down ok and his standing on table manners are pretty good ;). he didn't embarass with any deposits and came away tired but with a smile... as for me, I needed a lie down in a darkened room after ;).

Thanks again to those here that helped me find this club ;)

regards Dave

Dave - are you still going to Ringcraft at Roade? I'm asking because my puppy has just finished his puppy socialisation classes and I'm wondering whether ringcraft would be the next move for him. Do you just turn up?
Cathy.

sorry about jumping on the bandwaggon here, but I'd like to know too.  I live in Milton Keynes and enquired from the Kennel club as to the nearest ringcraft and they said the nearest were in London.  Roade is much nearer, unless anyone knows of one even nearer???

Hi Floozy,
I go to Wooton but the lady who runs it(Marion)  also does classes on Monday night at Bletchley. I f you're interested I'll get the details for you. I go on Wednesday night to Wooton village hall. It's friendly and Marion is very good. Some people travel to Wooton from Cambridge and one lady comes from Peterborough so she must be good. It would be nice to see a Champdogger!

Could you let me have the details too please? Wooton would be much more convenient for me than Roade!
Thanks,
Cathy.

Hi Cathy,

The Wooton ringcraft is on Wednesday evening at 7.30. It is held in Wooton Village Hall. Depending on which way you come, it is just off the high street and follows the judo club
(or tae quando etc ...)

Thanks Anniee, just got home from the Ringcraft at Bletchley.  They all seem nice people.  I was overawed by the lovely dogs and wished I hadnt taken mine to the woods earlier!!! I think my dog will catch on quicker than I will.  I have a lot to learn.

Hi, I know what you mean! Lola looks at me as though to say 'come on mum, get your act together;.
I think she'd do better if she could trot around on her own!
