Hi,
It's generally considered more ethical to wait until after the bitch is 2 years old to mate her.

No she is too young yet, but you can use the time to study the breed further, carry out helth checks such as Hip Scoring eye testing, testing for Patella luzation etc as appropritae.

A good first step would be to join a breed club.  these may run seminars and educational events as well as shows.

At shows you will see which dogs are doing well, and more importantly what certain stud dogs are producing.

If your bitches breeder is an experienced knowledgeable person then they are best to advise yo8u regarding breeding.  Sadly if they are not then it is very unlikley that you have a bitch of the quality to breed from.  If you take her to some shows abd mneet some expereinced breeders they may well be able to tell you if she is of sufficeint quality to breed from, and be able to advise tyou how to prepare her coat for show.  If she has been clipped you may have to wait until it grows again and start having it hand striped properly to return it to it's proper texture and appearance.

This would be in keeping with the code of ethics of the WHTC of England you may wish to have a look at their web site for information about health issues within the breed if you have not already researched this.
