One of my Italian Greyhounds has just been diagnosed with Cushings. Has anyone out there who has had a dog with Cushings found that the appetite is suppressed at all. Mole hasnt eaten properly for about 2 weeks and when she does she is often sick. She has only just started her medication for the Cushings so it is not that and loss of appetite is not one of the symptoms listed. Any ideas please Jan

Our old girl had Cushings - can't ever remember her refusing her food, she always drank a lot though - the medication helped her thirst but that was about it. Sorry I can't offer any advice - maybe the medication isn't suiting her, I'd seek advice from your vet if I was you.

There is a group on Yahoo that is specifically about Cushings - I think it is called Caninecushings.

Took her back to the vets. On top of the Cushings which has suppressed her Immune system she has got an ulcerated intestional tract. Also a bacteria in the stomach which is normally present but not normally a problem has attacked her due to the depressed Immune system, so she really is in the wars. She is like a walking Chemist shop. The good thing is that for the first time yesterday she had something to eat that so far seems to have stayed down. I am hand feeding her as a bowl of food seems to make her nauseous. Still this is better than what the vet thought it was which was Stomach Cancer!! I will go to the Cushings site, Thanks for that Jan

Missed that post. I am only about 20 miles from Faringdon and I remember now a friend going to him. I will give it a try. The problem at the moment is not the Cushings but the sickness which is not responding to treatment although she is not getting dehydrated. Thanks Jan
