Do other people's dogs try to eat rose bushes?  Surely it must hurt?  Molly is obsessed with our rose bushes, the more I try to stop her the more she wants a good chew!

February is the ideal time for pruning rose bushes :D

Seriously, I haven't had experience of this, but are the branches long and so blow around ? Our pup went through a phase of chewing our buddleias and we solved the problem by giving them a very hard prune - she then lost interest :)

The bushes are about 4ft high at the moment.  And they are literally covered in the nastiest thorns imaginable.  I can't imagine why she would want to go anywhere near them, let along get her mouth around them.

Our rose bush which was about 10ft high is now about 6inches, just hope it appreciated the pruning

My cocker spaniel loves chewing my rose bushes, looks very painful though but it doesn't seem to bother him, in fact he looks like he's really enjoying it...........lol.

You're not the only one.  You should see Buster in the park in the summer eating the daisies!!  All my plants have to be kept well out of reach otherwise everything gets a pruning!!

Wouldn't be the first time one of my boys has presented me with what remains of my roses - usually the rooty bit and some soil :)
