How the hell do you put it on straight??
I know to look down into a mirror and apply to the top lid but it's just not going right  I'm looking more like Morticia everytime i try.

practice practice practice :D :D, your doing the right thing with looking down in the mirror, i always wipe most of the eyeliner off the tip and put on VERY small amounts at a time, not going straight across the top of the eyelid but doing it sort of dot to dot if you know what i mean.
hope this helps.......
Steph (with a need to wear makeup even if she's just sat on her ass at home :) )

How can you put
any eyeliner on straight? It tickles so much, especially at the outer corners of my eyes, that I sneeze! Disaster!

Hi Mygirl i ,have just asked my daughter (she is a make up Artiste) she says find a good liquid eyeliner with a fine brush ,Guerlain is one she uses a lot , start your line from the outer edge of your eye and fill it in ,it seems that the fine brush is very important ,good luck Sue T xx

I also use the little bit at a time method. Try using one of the liquid ones that's like a pen, I find these easier than the ink well type. :)

Doesn't matter with liquid liner if you make a mistake. Just dampen a cotton bud and wipe it over to take off the excess.

Lol didn't expect so many replies!!! I had a make-over at boots and she showed me what to do and the results were great but alas i got home and when i do it i look awful (A 30yr old goth just won't do!).
It's a very fine brush type? I'll try all methods suggested and thanks!! It sounds like i'm not wiping enough excess off the brush i suspect?

:D :D
Sarah :)
I always get one eye ok and the liner on the other either goes wonky or too thicky and its hell to wipe off and start again
I usually use a dark powder now to get a decent line .
Maybe all the white wine I drink is giving me the shakes ;)

Well attempting make up tricks whilst on wine doesn't help i guess :D
Red wine here!

So I've been told, you go from the corner into the middle of your eyelid and then do the other corner into the middle. I spent years putting Kokl inside my bottom eyelid but never managed to do my top lid.

I can't do it, I can't do it :( Can anyone draw me a diagram??
I paid over £40 for all this make-up after the make over and all i can use is the eyeshadow and lipstick!
Even foundation! I thought that was for newly built houses

I found the best thing with make-up is tell your self you don't need it!!! All my mates can do the full lot, all i can manage is eye shadow and lippy!!!!! But still i don't think I need it....everyone else say's I just need a mask!!! :O

I use a liquid liner on my upper lids, I dab the tip on a piece of tissue and I powder a small amount of white eyeshadow on first (it's never noticed, it helps as a sort of base for the liner) if the wand is too overloaded you end up with liner everywhere and it can run into your eye (I think?) - Look down but keep head straight, if you keep tilting your head back you cant see a thing :D
Sarah
Try putting less on the brush and then you can press a bit harder -Think back to painting at school ;) if you try to paint with the very tip it waggles about and goes all over the place but if you are firm with it , it stays straighter -I find that one firm definate stroke works better than lots of bits :)

It might make it easier to support your arm/hand, to halp avoid mid air wobble ;) And dipping a cotton bud in eye make up remover so you can wipe any mistakes can help too. Good luck

if you get maxfactor eyeliner pen you wont b worried about loosing the other half.
First of all most people go different directions when applying there makeup as one of your hands is strong in one direction then the other.
If you start on your left eye work from the outer edge into the middle ....and beyond if you want a dramatic look.
if i were u starting out id go slighly past the middle making the line thinner as you get to the middle.
The right eye work from the middle out to the outer edge.straight line.
Always try to make the line as thin as possible to start untill you get a steady hand that way you can always add a bit here and there.
when applying try to go slightly onto the eyelashes rather then try to hit ded on the skin , that way the line wont be too thick and the eyelashes running along should give you some kind of guide :)Alot of people lean on the elbow thats doing the work bring your head down to the level your hand is and keep your eyes open when applying or you wont be able to see where you go wrong.
feel free to pm me if your still stuck there are lots of different ways of doing it ,i can help with your other makeup too if you want to know. rember there are no rules to makeup sometimes the colour on your eyes you think is horrible in the pallet actully look lovely when applied
I always tell my clients to do it that way and they seem to find it a bit easyier :)some people think blacks to harsh ,dark brown can look better then full on black , it depends on your skin tone and hair colour .
alot of salons are willing to teach you how to do it we will do one half of your face while you watch it helps alot :)
