Miloos, unfortunately this is not a wind up. I think it is disgusting. I will emigrate if it meant that I could keep my babes. Why pick on these breeds, how many of these breeds are PAT dogs? Used in Search and Rescue? Most of the above mentioned breeds are known for being very good around children and humans. Like all other dogs they need firm handling, granted sometimes a BIT more firmer handling but it can be done. We need to show these peploe that if you train the dog right you have a beautiful and loving animal. I don't know a dafter breed than a staff and I have two of them. I know for a fact that staffs have a sort of built-in human recognition factor. Just because these breeds have a more colourful background then they should not be looked upon as an inferior species. They should be seen by today's examples of the breeds not back when they were used for fighting.
I am sorry but I feel so stongly about this subject.

have just looked on the domino website and can't believe the hype surrounding certain breeds of dogs!!have only had mu staffy pup for just over a week now but wouldn't give her away for anything, she's the best behaved pup i've had and my other four pups were labs!!!sorry i doubted the first poster (sorry forgot the name) but it seems to ridiculous to be true!!

I was thinking that as well. Strange how Golden Retrievers have been mentioned and not Rotties. Even the Rotties are 'supposed' to be dangerous(owner of a Rottie cross thats as docile as anything!!!!!!!!!!!)

If this is true (and i really dont think it is) Why are the breeds so different? and WHY do they want to ban them?

Sara, if you are responding to my message, the dogs arnt different, But, people will not cross the road when you are walking along with a golden. But will when they see you walking along with a Rottie. There has been that much hype about Rotties biting, people have got it into their heads that rottties are dangerous and not trusted. I would have another Rottie tommorow as I donnot in any way belive the media hype.(owning a rottie cross.)
And if you werent responding to my message Sara, apologise.
BTW, I dont think any of these dogs shopuld be banned, ITS THE BAD OWNERS OF THESE DOGS THAT SHOULD BE BANNED

Sorry Lea.. I was responding to the first message. I think Rotties are lovely dogs and ,as you say, no breed is entirely friendly but unfortunately some are thought to be less friendly than others :( I wish people could learn about these dogs and see them for what they really are instead of their stereotypical image. My apologize for the confusion and I still think this statement about the banning of these breeds isnt true!
